The Obituary of Fred E. Smith Sr. from Blue Springs Examiner:
"Fred E. Smith Sr., 78, Odessa, Mo., formerly of Blue Springs, died Oct. 27, 1991, at Veterans Hospital. He was born in Bridgeport, Okla., and lived in Blue Springs from 1956 until he moved to Odessa six months ago. Mr. Smith was a sheet metal worker for 37 years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of Local 2 of the Sheet Metal Workers Union. He was a member of the Raytown Masonic Lodge. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II. Survivors include two sons, James of Odessa, Fred E. Smith Jr., of California; a brother, Calvin L. Smith, Niotaze, Kan.; two sisters, Stella Annin, Webb City, Okla., and Ella Brawley, Fort Worth, TX; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Services will be at 2 P.M. Thursday at Webb-Freer Chapel; burial in the Blue Springs Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 P.M. today at the chapel, where Masonic services will be at 8 P.M."
