Evidence indicates he was born in Tennessee, died in Oklahoma and buried in Comanche.

Note: Keith was born in Morriston, Jefferson County, Tennessee. Hamblen County was formed from Jefferson County in 1870. The family left for Texas soon after.
Keith's widow Lida Hall Chilton moved to California after his death. She died there in 1958.
