John Lewis Wiles,son of Geo.W. and Myra Crismon Wiles,was bore 2-10-1873,near Lacon,in Maries County,Mo.,and passed away unexpectedly of heart attack at his home near Ulman,Mo
Oct.22,1948,at the age of 75 years,8 months and 12 days.
On Augest 17,1897,he was united in marriage to Martha Schell,and to this union two daughters were born,one pass-ed away at the age of fourteen years,and the other daugh-ter,Mrs.Viola Eggers who lives in Jefferson City,Mo.Mrs.
Martha Wiles preceded him in death.
On March 19,1922,Mr Wiles was united in marriage to Mrs.
Nellie Fisher,who survives.
A number of years ago he united with the Mt.Christain
Church of which he was a member at the time of his death.
Those to mourn is passing are is wife,Nellie Wiles of the home;a dayghter,Mrs Viola Eggers of Jefferson City;5 step-
children,Alvin Sooter, Ulman,Mo.,Mrs Kathryn Swim and
Mrs Laleen Scott of Jefferson City,Mo.,Mrs Christina Jarrett of Olean,Mo.,and Bruce Fisher of Tuscumbia,Mo.Half
brothers and sisters who survive are Mrs Matilda Hollis,
Ben.L.Wiles,Grover.C.Wiles,Gideon.T.Wiles,and Bessie Wiles
all of Dixon,Mo.,and Mrs Emma Sudheimer of St.Louis,Mo.
Four grandchildren,8 great-grandchildren and 14 step grand-
children,and 4 step-great-grandchildren,and many other
relatives and friends remain to morn his passing.
Funeral services were held at 2pm Sunday,Oct.24,at the Mt.
Zion Christian Church,the Rev.Mark Sooter officiating minister.Burial was made in the church cemetery.Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home of Iberia.Pall Bearers were;Ercil Sooter,Everett Scott,Freddie Scott,Gail Martin,Frank Branson and Jean Sooter.
