Winnie Frances Arnold, of Gettysburg, departed this life November 6, 2010, in Fayetteville.

Born October 28, 1927 in Biglerville, she was the daughter of the late William P. and Winnie (Northey) Arnold.

Winnie was a family-oriented woman, doting on her daughter, nieces and nephews. She worked her entire life, employed in the fruit-packing industry in Upper Adams County, sewing factories in Gettysburg, and two service industries in Gettysburg. She retired in 1981.

During retirement, Winnie enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, following Major League Baseball and caring for her son-in-law, daughter and the cats.

She will be sorely missed by those who knew her and loved her.

She is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Louise Arnold-Friend and David Friend of Gettysburg.

She was predeceased by nine siblings: two sisters, Ruth Alberta Shealer and Joyce Elaine Schultz; and seven brothers, Carroll Norton Arnold, Wayne Charles Arnold, James Travis Arnold, Clyde Sandow Arnold, Billy Lee Arnold, Leonard Paul Arnold and John Myron Arnold.

Winnie was interred in Bendersville Cemetery beside her beloved mother and brothers, Travis and Lee
