Survivors include two sons, Keith Alan Howell, Greensboro, Nc., T. Shaun Howell, Grassy Creek, Ky., two daughters, Alberta Howell Turner, McDowell, Ky., Curly Lou Howell Hill, Lexington, Ky., three sisters, Emodel Boyd, Dana, Ky., Toda Tackett, Banner, Ky., Novella Compton, Florence, Ky., 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, a brother, David Akers, three sisters, Marie Kirby, Sadie Howell, and Kay Akers and a grandchild, Keith Alan Howell, Jr.. Funeral services for Malta Akers Howell will be conducted Thursday, April 06, 2006, at 11:00 a.m., at Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, Ky., with United Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow at Newman Cemetery, Hi Hat, Ky., under the professional care of Hall Funeral Home. Visitation is after 12:00 noon Wednesday here at the Funeral Home.
