John Adams was one of the earliest residents of the Soldiers & Sailors Home in Quincy, Riverside Township, Adams County, Illinois. The home was opened in 1886 and John Adams was admitted to the home from Bond County, Illinois on April 1, 1887.
In the 1900 census, John Adams is residing in the Soldiers & Sailors Home in Quincy, Adams County, Illinois. He is found there in the 1900 census, age 56 and claiming to have been born in June of 1843 in Germany. In the 1910 census, he is listed as single and 67 years of age. In both, he is born in Germany as are both of his parents.
The 1910 census, is the last census I can find him in. He must have died in the 1910's.
