Mary Konieczny was born in Feb 1864 in Bryly, Jaslo, Podkarpackie, Poland. At the time of her birth, Bryly was in the Kingdom of Galicia, which was part of Austria. Galicia became part of Poland in 1918. She was the second child of Michael Konieczny and Antonina Gadek, and had eight siblings:

1. Walter (Ladislaus) 1862

2. Mary 1864

3. Albert (Wojtek) 1866

4. Catherine 1868

5. Pete (Piotr) 1870

6. Virginia (possibly Veronica)1871

7. Thecla (Tillie) 1882

8. Francis 1885-1890

9. Aniela unknown

When she was 20 Mary married John Warchol, son of Kasper Warchol and Maria Pękałą, on 8 May 1884, presumably in Bryly. Records indicate she first traveled to America in about 1886.

After her marriage, they settled in St Paul, Minnesota. (Her younger sister Catherine Mary Skwira settled with her husband Roman in Brockway Township, Stearns, Minnesota). Mary and John had eleven children. The first four children were born in St. Paul, Minnesota:

• Thecla 1886-1886

• Antonina 1887-1887

• Victoria 1889

• Martin 1890

Both Thecla and Antonina died shortly after birth.

John, Mary, Victoria and Martin then traveled to Poland where the next three children were born:

• Pauline 1892

• Julia (twin) 1895

• Michael (twin) 1895-1897

Michael died at the age of 16 months. John returned to the United States alone in about 1898.

On May 17, 1900 Mary left Bryly, Jaslo, Podkarpackie, Poland, sailing on the ship Nederland from Antwerp, Belgium for Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She arrived June 1, 1900 with Victoria, Martin and Pauline. (Julia remained in Poland with her grandparents and returned to the United States later.)

The family lived in Philadelphia for a number of years and had four more children there:

• Sophie Adeline 1901

• Frank 1903-1903

• Julian William 1904

• Caroline Dorothy 1906

Frank only lived 7 days. Their daughters Victoria and Pauline were both married in Philadelphia in 1908 and 1910, respectively.

Sometime before 1911, the family moved back to St Paul, Minnesota and lived at 870 Newcomb St. Mary died of heart disease on 11 July 1917 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Her husband John died two months later on 14 Sept 1917. Both John and Mary are buried in Calvary Cemetery in St. Paul, Minnesota.
