Originally born in Washington, D.C. Katherine (Catherine) relocated to Baltimore, Maryland upon her marriage to Ambrose Walter. Prior to that time, she had lived in a convent after her parents passed away when she was 14.
She was the mother to Blanche (Lizzy); Albert (Abby); Rose Virginia: Howard; William (Willy); and Thomas. Little Thomas died at 2 from what was diagnosed as chronic croup at the time. Thomas is buried with his father at St. Peter's.
She was living with Rose McIntyre, her daughter, at the time of her death after a short illness. Following a Mass, she was laid to rest at New Cathedral Cemetery.
When Albert, her son, passed he was buried next to her.
