Walter Ray, age 88 of Russellville, died Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at Legacy Lodge Nursing Home. He was born May 19, 1920 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Walter and Nettie Wilson Ray He retired from Citizens Gas Company after 22 years of service. He was a 32 Degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rites Englewood Lodge in Indianapolis, IN.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Kathryn Ray of Russellville; sons and a daughter-in-law, Marshall and Nancy Ray of Jacksonville, William Howard Ray of Gumlog; daughter, Julie Ray of Russellville; brother, Carl Ray of Indiana; sister, Beaulah Wiggs of Indiana; five grandchildren, William Ray, Don Ray, Kyle Ray, Ember Ray, and Jasmine Ray.

Graveside services were held Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Ard Cemetery in Dardanelle. Arrangements by Cornwell Funeral Home, Dardanelle. (Yell County Record, Danville, Arkansas; Obituary was published on Wednesday, February 11, 2009)
