The 1880 census shows Neziah with his family, living in Kingston, Washington county, Missouri. Further down the same page is his future wife, Sallie E. Scott, with her family. On the preceding page, Neziah was also listed as a farm laborer in the home of Sallie's brother, John A. Scott. Neziah and Sallie were married 23 November 1880 in Washington county, Missouri. The obituary of her sister, Nannie, in 1914, implied that Sallie was living in St. Louis at the time, but did not name her specifically (possibly divorced from Neziah?).
