Resident of Longmont Area 60 Years Dies

Mrs. Eleanor (Ella) Mitchell, 85-year-old resident of rural Longmont, died in a Denver Hospital Friday afternoon after a short illness.

Mrs. Mitchell, who was born in Greenfield, Missouri, March 11, 1867, had lived in the Longmont district for 60 years. She and her husband homesteaded east of Longmont in Weld county for many years. Her husband, Felix Mitchell, died in 1919.

She had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Charlotte Gunst, in Longmont, for some time.

Mrs. Mitchell was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church in Longmont.

Surviving relatives, in addition to her daughter here, are two daughters, Mrs. Maude Duncan of Fort Morgan and Mrs Jewell Spencer, Jackson, Michigan; three sons, John O. Mitchell of Fort Worth, Texas, Porter W. Mitchell of Brooklyn, New York, and Felix E. Mitchell of Denver; one brother, Worth McInturf, Olympia, Washington; one sister, Mrs. Inda Mullihan, Greeley, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A large number of friends and relatives attend the funeral services for Mrs. Ella Mitchell at Lewellen Funeral home Tuedsay afternoon [March 25, 1952]. Rev. L. G. Jorgensen officiated. Delbert Marquardt, Accompanied by Mrs Charles Martz, sang "beyond the Sunset" and "There Will Be No Dark Valley." Those serving as bearers were Frank Marquardt, Sr., Ed Wencel, Frank Marquardt, Jr., Floyd McCullock, John Rosenbach and Robert Selvia. Concluding services were held in Mountain View Cemetery.
