FORMER LOCAL RESIDENT DIES IN CLEVELAND
Body of Mrs. Ella Bowling McAtee Returned Here Today Noon

Death of Mrs. Ella Bowling McAtee occurred Monday night about 10 o’clock at a hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, according to information received here last night by relatives. Word of her death had been delayed.

Mrs. McAtee was a native of Daviess county, having been born southeast of Washington toward Montgomery. She was a daughter of John W. and Cordelia (Patterson) Bowling. She married Arnold McAtee about 30 years ago, and lived here until about 24 years ago. After leaving Washington, Mrs. McAtee lived in Indianapolis for about 15 years, then went to Toledo for a time, and for the past two years lived in Cleveland. Her husband was an insurance agent.

The body of Mrs. McAtee arrived in Washington this afternoon by way of B & O.

There are no children and survivors besides the husband are the father, John W. Bowling of Downey avenue, and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Ed Essig, Mrs. Perry Brewer, Julian Bowling, all of this city, Leo Bowling, south of Montgomery, Harry Bowling of Loogootee, George Bowling of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Penrod of Kansas City.

The deceased was a member of St. Simon’s Catholic church of this city.

Mrs. McAtee was born on March 28, 1884, and was past 47 years of age at the time of her death.

The body was taken to the home of her father after arriving here at noon.

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 9 o’clock at St. Simon’s Catholic church, with burial following in St. John’s cemetery. Ed Keller will have charge of the funeral.
