Martha was the daughter of James Ballard Ball and Jane "Jennie" Tunnell
Born 14 Aug 1837 in Russell County, Virginia
She married George Washington Tiller on 15 Apr 1858 in Russell County just before the Civil War. George fought for the Confederate side with the Virginia Light Artillery. They had 9 children. Martha died in 1914, George followed two years later. Both are buried in the George Tiller Cemetery in Buchanan County.
