Henry Rothrock was the eleventh of thirteen known children of Johannes (went by John) Rothrock (1744-1805) and his second known wife, Salome Charity Worley (1759-1828), who married 05 Nov 1776 at York, York County, Pennsylvania. John was first married to Dorothea Gump (1749-1775) on 01 May (or 06 May?) 1767 at York (or Cumberland?) County, Pennsylvania, with whom he had four known children.

Henry Rothrock was born and raised at York County, Pennsylvania. It is not known when he moved to Centre County, Pennsylvania, but he was living there in 1826 when he married Nancy Ann Ramsey (1805-1894) on 26 Sep 1826 at Bellefonte, Centre County, Pennsylvania. Henry and Nancy spent their married life in Bellefonte, Centre County, Pennsylvania. They were the parents of six known children, namely:

1. Joseph Rothrock (1827-1830)
2. Thomas Rothrock (1829-1901)
3. David R. Rothrock (1831-1906)
4. John Ramsey Rothrock (1834-1915)
5. Ann Elita Rothrock Long (1839-1914)
6. Henry J. Rothrock (1843-1915)

Henry was a tanner, by trade.
