Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, October 8, 2010 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Shirley E. Heinen, age 85, of St. Cloud, who passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, at Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Augusta. Reverend Alan Wielinski will officiate. Burial will take place in Assumption Cemetery in St. Cloud.

Family and Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 11:30 a.m. on Friday at the church. Parish prayers will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Shirley was born on June 13, 1925 in Duluth, Minnesota to Robert and Ada (Widholm) Alexander. She married Urban "Brotch" Heinen on August 12, 1947 in St. Cloud. She lived in the St. Cloud area all of her married life. Shirley was employed as a Secretary for Apollo High School for many years. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, the St. Cloud VFW Post #428 Auxiliary and the Eagles Auxiliary.

Throughout her life she enjoyed the time spent with her family, friends and her occasional trips to the casino.

She is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Dwayne) Dockendorf of St. Cloud; grandchildren, Judi and Derek (Pam); and brother, Dale Alexander of Sebeka.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband in 1986, and brother, Glen.
