Bunky retired from Rockwell International (Rocketdyne Division) after 35 years, working as a rocket scientist & test engineer. He worked in Huntsville, AL, White Sands, NM, Cape Kennedy, FL, Stennis, MS and various locations in California.
Survived by his loving and devoted wife, Patricia; children, Melodie (Tim) Essman of Colorado, Michael (Kim) Aldred of California & Steven (Tina) Aldred of Iowa; step children, Geoffrey (Jennifer) Curtis of California & Laurel (Ted) Sager of Washington; 4 grandchildren in Iowa; and 4 step granddaughters who dearly loved their Papa Bunky. Also survived by longtime friend and NASA Rocket Scientist, Ted Oglesby of California. Ted and Bunky worked on several Apollo Missions together. On Bunky's 75th birthday, his step-family purchased a star to be named A.H. (Bunky) Aldred. Papa Bunky is off to see his star in Andromeda RA 2h 32m 9s D49 degrees 25 registered with the International Star Registry in Switzerland.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, October 3, 2008 at 10 a.m., at Woodbine Funeral Home, HICKORY CHAPEL, 5852 Nolensville Road, by Pastor Sylvia Bouiver, Laurel Sager & Tynon Roberts. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
