Redding (CA) Record Searchlight, Mar. 8, 1966, p. 23. John Nickolos (Nick) Buese Sr. of Lamoine died today in a Redding hospital at the age of 80. Buese had lived in Lamoine, where he owned and operated the Lamoine Store, for 39 years. He was born Sept. 24, 1885, in Michigan. A retired civil engineer, Buese was a member of the Elks Lodge for 53 years. He transferred his membership from the El Paso lodge to the Redding lodge in 1934. He leaves his widow, LaVernia, of Lamoine; three sons, John of Canal Zone, William of Lamoine and Robert of Eureka; two sisters, Mrs. Theresa Verran and Mrs. Josephine Durand, both of Berkeley; 13 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Funeral arrangements are being made by McDonald's Redding Chapel.
