Funeral Services Held on Monday, Dec. 5th
Mrs. Grace M. Otten, 78, Anamosa, died unexpectedly on Friday, Dec. 2. Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 5, at 11 a.m., at Wayne Zion Lutheran church, Monticello. Rev. Otto Zwanzicer officiated at the service. Burial was in Wayne cemetery

She was born June 26, 1882, daughter of John Gerdes and Anna Siebcls Gerdes, Langworthy. She was married to Otto Otten, Amber, on Feb. 23, 1901, at Wayne Zion Lutheran church. Couple farmed near Amber until 1939 when, they retired and lived in Amber until 14 years ago.

Others include five sons, Fred Otten, Sioux Falls, S. Dak.; William Otten, Center Junction, Lawrence Otten, Anamosa; Clarence Otten, Scotch Grove, and Leonard Otten, Danamora, N. Y; 23 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto, Jan. 17, 1958; three brothers and two sisters.
