John Walton Barker. Born on 25 Oct 1843. Age 43 yrs. (sic) Died 31 July 1926, of heart disease. Son of Childs (sic) T. and Mary Hutchinson Barker of Montgomery County, Tennessee. Merchant. Confederate soldier. Served in Woodward's Reg't. Married Miss Fannie Elliott, who died ca 6 years ago. Interment in family cemetery, near West Fork, Kentucky. Survived by one sister, Mrs. G. C. Andrews and two brothers, Charles E. and Peter M. Barker. Leaves three daughters, Mrs. L. B. Hendrick, Mrs. Kate Schafuss, Mrs. Wallace B. Pinson and five sons, John W., W. Elliott, Dr. E. H., Dr. J. L., and C. Roy Barker.
