Glennis (Gee) Waltz Anderson passed away on September 27, 2010 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
She was born on July 20, 1923 to Frank Hugo Waltz and Mildred Laughlin Waltz in Denison, Texas. She graduated from Texas Tech, where she was a cheerleader and later taught art there. She was a technical illustrator for North American Aviation Company during World War II and later became the first woman draftsman for M.K.T. Railroad and the City of Lubbock. Gee was married 48 years to Lt. James (Andy) Wilburn Anderson until his death in 1993. Gee has been a long time member of First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Statue of Christ Committee that was instrumental in getting the statue of Christ on the bay front. She designed and supervised the stitching of the kneelers of Alamo Heights Methodist Church in San Antonio and First United Methodist Church in Canyon Lake. She was a member of Corpus Christi Women's Society, Corpus Christi Water Color Society, Delta Delta Delta Alumnae, and Monday Forum.
Gee is survived by her son, Jim (Jan Griffin) Anderson, and daughter Jan (Anderson) Anderson, sister Kay Bryant, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Elva Mata (housekeeper), Mirek Krzycki (PT), Brian Hooper (RN), Dr. Mark Strauss, and long time friends Rita and Carl Crownover for their constant kindness and caring.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2010 at First United Methodist Church.
Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
