Mrs. Reatha Bradley, 80, of DeFuniak Springs passed away Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, in a Pensacola hospital. She was born April 11, 1930, in Schuyler, Neb., the daughter and youngest of seven children of Charles Floyd and Ella Pansy Johnson Strahan. She moved to Missouri Val-ley, Iowa, where she met Edward Patrick Bradley. They were married March 22, 1949, soon after Edward's return from the Marines at the end of World War II, a marriage that would span some 61 years.
In the span of the next 16 years they were blessed with the birth of 11 children. Reatha's trail led her eventually to Crestview in 1974 where she proudly served as a rural route letter carrier with the United States Postal Service until her retirement in 1992. Retirement led Reatha and Edward to a quiet home in DeFuniak Springs in the summer of 1999. The family eventually blossomed to 21 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, the latest of which was born last month. Reatha was a member of St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church and its Cenacle Prayer Group.
Among survivors are her husband, Edward, her children Julieneen and husband Mike, Mary and husband Jamie, Christine, Edward Jr. and wife Dari, Bridget and husband Donald, Susan and husband Andrew, Daniel and wife Alison, Matthew and wife Meeiling, Andrew and wife Ronda and Lawrence. Her son Peter preceded her in death.
Memorials may be made in Mrs. Bradley's memory to Saint Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church. A time of visitation and Rosary will be held Monday, Sept. 27, 2010, in Jerry Evans Chapel at 6:30 p.m. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, at 10 a.m. at Saint Marga-ret of Scotland Catholic Church with the Rev.
