Jack B. Deaderick

Jack B. Deaderick, 77, of Tracy died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002, at home after a brief illness. He was born Aug. 31, 1925, in Jonesborough, Tenn. Deaderick moved to Stockton in 1945 and to Tracy in 1953. He owned and operated Parker Avenue Market until 1970. He then worked for Don Quick Market and also managed Don Quick Market in Oakdale before retiring.

Deaderick served in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of Tracy Jaycees and American Legion. He was also a charter member of Elks Lodge 2031. Deaderick was on the board of directors of San Joaquin River Club. He was married for 58 years.

Survivors: wife, Agnes Deaderick of Tracy; children, Jackie G. Silva, Jennie S. Ornellas and Michael Carter Sr., all of Tracy, and Judy L. Boulanger and Shelly Carter-Silvera, both of Stockton; brother, Byrd Deaderick of Jonesborough, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services: 10 a.m. Thursday, First United Methodist Church, 1610 East St. Committal to follow at Tracy Public Cemetery, 600 E. Schulte Road. Visitation: noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave. Memorials: Visiting Nurses Association and Hospice, 4600 S. Tracy Blvd., Suite 101, Tracy, CA 95377.

Jack was one of 13 children .
