Nellie H. Fanning, 96, died Tuesday Aug 8, 2000 in Rapid City.
She was born in Pleasantdrew Mo., on Aug 5, 1904 to Frank H. and Mary Eleanor (Lindsay) Hackleman. She married James Fanning on Feb 1, 1932. He preceded her in death in 1961. She continued residing in Laramie Wyo., until 1960, when she moved to Riverton, Wyo.
She is survived by her brother, E.F. "Gene" Hackleman, A Riverton centurion. Also surviving is a sister, Mary Terrtete in Casper, Wyo. Preceding her in death were brothers Ted and Russell Hackleman; and sister Neva Norman and Lillian ??
Nellie came to Rapid City in June of this year to be near her niece Ila Fae (Mrs. Dean C.) Johnson. Former Rapid City residents are her great-nieces, Anne Gunnare, Colstrip, Mont. and Karen Johnson, Spokane Wash., and her great-nephew, Mike Johnson, M.D. in Las Cruces, N.M. Preceding her in death was great-niece Amy Johnson.
Nellie leaves many nephews and nieces and their families missing her.
Family graveside services were held in Laramie, Wyo.
