In a history of Baptist churches in Tennessee there is a listing of 10 Tennessee churches at a meeting in Sept, 1823. One of them, Ramble Creek (with 21 members), sent Elder Jacob Browning and T. Browning to the meeting. Jacob Browning was elected the associational clerk at this meeting. Ramble Creek Church in Benton Co, Tn. was organized by Jacob Browning in June 1823.
He was later the pastor of the Parish church in Henry County and his last sermon was preached there. He died in 1841 in Benton County, TN.
