Quite a few sources list his burial site as Olney Cemetery, but he does not seem to have a marked grave there.

Jesse McLacton Rothrock was the first (or second?) of four known children of Adam Bennett Rothrock (1820-1891) and his first wife, Elizabeth Whitlow (1824-1852), who married 11 Jan 1843 at Davidson County, North Carolina and moved to Illinois shortly afterward. After Elizabeth died, Adam remarried to the widow Lucretia Kathryn Cox Ashlock (1835-1912) on 29 Oct 1858 at Putnam County, Missouri and had an additional six known children.

Jesse married Hulda Awilda (went by Awilda) Margaret Brown (1852-1925) on 24 Jan 1870 at Pendleton, Umatilla County, Oregon. Jesse and Awilda were the parents of five known children, namely:

1. Lucretia C. Rothrock Gregg (1876-1924)
2. Frances Omelia Rothrock Scott (1877-1938)
3. Mary Jenette Rothrock Culbertson (1886-1967)
4. George Andrew B. Rothrock (1888-1971)
5. Evelyn Rothrock Davis (1891-p1930)

In 1870 Jesse and Awilda were living with the Taylor Green family at Weston, Umatilla County, Oregon. There may be additional children born to Jesse and Awilda between 1870 and 1876. In 1880 the family was living at Weston, Umatilla County, Oregon. At the time of Jesse's death in 1899 the family had lived in Pendleton only eight months, coming there from Milton-Freewater, Umatilla County, Oregon. Jesse was peddling fruit and vegetables to make a living. In 1900 Awilda, a widow, along with children Mary, George and Evelyn were living on Railroad Street in Pendleton, Umatilla County, Oregon with Awilda's widower father. Jesse was killed in a railway accident at the Pendleton railway yards. After Jesse died Awilda married Nicholas DuPuis (???-1928?) on 26 Dec 1901.

Links to Jesse's parents, wife, three of his five known children and seven of his nine known siblings and half-siblings are included below.
