William D. "Bill" Black, 67, 6 Willow Drive, Olney, died at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 21, 1987 in St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville, Ind.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Elm Street Christian Church with Rev. Dewey Thackston presiding. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Saturday in Summers Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crest Haven Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Elm Street Christian Church.

Mr. Black was born Nov. 4, 1919, in Noble, the son of James L. and Verna (Schwartz) Black. He married Mabel Brooks June 30, 1941, in St. Charles, Mo.

Mr. Black was a retired self-employed oil producer.

He was a member of Elm Street Christian Church, and the Olney Elks. He was a WWII Air Force veteran and a former state policeman.

Survivors include his wife, Mabel; two sons, Larry Black and James Black, both of Olney; two brothers, Charles Black, Cape Cod, Fla.; Jerry Black, Olney; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, and an infant daughter.
