"Died, at Georgetown, on Friday last, of a short but severe ilness, Capt.John Addison, in the 57th year of his age; many years a respectable inhabitant of that town. As a public character, he bore a conspicuous part in our revolutionary contest, and acquired by his affablility, probity, and industry, the esteem of all who new him--in his private one, of a husband, father, and friend, he was affectionate, tender and sinceere. Long will his family and society have occasion to regret his loss."
