He was the son of Frank and Kathryn (Thiele) Hull. He married Mable Astin in Milton Junction, on August 23, 1936. She preceded him in death on April 24, 1997. Phil had a long association with the Parker Pen Company in various domestic and international positions including residence in Canada, Argentina and Brazil, retiring in 1979 as Senior Corporate Vice President. Community and governmental activities included Janesville City Planning Commission, Vice President; Milton College Board of Trustees, President; Janesville Chamber of Commerce, Chairman Governor's Commission of Physical Fitness, National Planning Association Board Member, Vice President Sinnissippi Council Boy Scouts of America, Red Cross Director, Chairman of Board of Trustees of the United Church of Marco Island, Florida and head of several Janesville area fund raising projects including Community Chest, Mercy Hospital and Sinnissippi Council Camp Indian Trails. He had attained international rank in competitive pistol shooting. Philip is survived by his four daughters: Rosetta (Joseph) Hodge and Phylis (Wayne) Olson both of Janesville, Shirley Riley of West Des Moines, IA, and Nancy (Eric Dahl) Gile of Panama City, FL; and a son, Terry (Jane) Hull of New Hope, PA; 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren (with 3 additional due this summer) and one great-great-grandson. Phil is further survived by two sisters, Kathryn 'Tut' Hull and Marian 'Liz' Kumlein both of Janesville; two brothers, Richard 'Dicky' (Betty) of Milton and Warren 'Scuz' (Ellen) of St. Cloud, MN, and sister-in-law, Betty (Ralph) Cooper of Janesville. He was preceded in death by his wife; Mable; parents; and two brothers, Donald 'Joe' and Eugene 'Beans' Hull.
