Elloree - Philathea Rourk Bair, 84, of 611 Pickett Level Road, Elloree, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010, at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, at Elloree First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Don Bell officiating. Burial will be in Hungerpiller Family Cemetery on Horse Pond Road in Elloree. The casket will be placed in the church one hour before the start of service. Pallbearers will be Allen Bair, Donnie Bair, Russell "Rusty" Bair, T.L. "Faitsie" Bair III, Jeffrey Baltzegar, Larry McAlhaney and Ray Zeigler. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Philathea Sunday School Class of Elloree Baptist Church. Fogle-Hungerpiller Funeral Home is in charge of the service. Mrs. Bair was born July 7, 1926, in Orangeburg County, a daughter of the late Bennie Samuel Rourk and the late Ruth Rast Rourk Griffin. She was married to the late Bennie B. Bair. She was retired from Elloree Garment Co.. She was a member of Elloree First Baptist Church, and was a former Sunday school teacher and former choir member. Survivors include one son, Bennie "Buddy" Bair Jr. and Connie of Patterson, La.; a daughter, Janice Bair Jones and Robert of Elloree; three sisters, Ella Clara Keitt and Johnny of Orangeburg, Barbara Ann Larson of Sumter and Gloria Rourk Zeigler of Elloree; two grandsons, Ronnie McGee and Peggy of Elloree, Danny Bair of Louisiana; two granddaughters, Susan Griffin and Mark of Elloree, Veronica Jones of Beaufort; seven great-grandchildren, Jennifer Hughes, Randy McGee, Kayla Griffin, Jared Griffin, Bethany Bair, Stormey Bair and Danny Bair Jr.; great-great-grandchildren, Kaylee Zeigler, Dean Hughes and Layliah Gautreaux; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bair was predeceased by one brother, Samuel Bennie "S.B." Rourk; one grandson, Byron Bair; and one great-granddaughter, Summer Lynn Bair. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, at the funeral home. Family may call at the Bair home, 611 Pickett Level Road, Elloree.
