Buchanan Town Chairman Dies

John Grafmeier, 57, Had Served on County Board Since 1925

John Grafmeier, 57, town of Buchanan chairman and member of the Outagamie county board since 1925, died at 10:40 this morning at his home, route 3, Kaukauna. He had been ailing for about 10 weeks. Mr. Grafmeier was born in Freedom and had lived on a famr near Kaukauna since childhood. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church, Kaukauna, and of the Men's Catholic Order of Foresters of the church.

As a member of the county board, Mr. Grafmeier served on the majority of important committees and was at present a member of the executive committee.

Survivors include the widow, three sons, Carlyn, Mark and John Grafmeier, Jr., all at home.

Arrangements for the funeral have not been completed.

Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Honorary bearers will be Judge Thomas H. Ryan, Judge F. V. Heenemann, John E. Hanischel, Mike Mack, Frank Appleton and Stanley Staidl.

Large Crowd at Funeral Services for John Grafmeier

Kaukauna-Funeral services for John Grafmeier who died Friday were held at 8:30 yesterday morning at the farm home on Highway 55 and at 9 o'clock at the St. Mary's church with the Rev. A. Roder in charge. Burial was in the Holy Cross cemetery.

Honorary bearers were as follows; John William Ryan, Judge Fred V. Heinemann, Frank Appleton, John Hatchell, Mike Mack and Stanley Staidl. Active bearers were Henry Welhouse, John Haen, Frank Schmidt, Jacob Hank, Henry Nackers and Richard Lamers.

Out-of-town people attending the funeral were as follows; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Halsmann, Fond du Lac; Mr. and Mrs. George Wittman, Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Wittman, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wittman, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hartzheim and Mrs. Arthur Wittman, Darboy; Mr. and Mrs.George Schafer, Mrs. Mary Mauer, Miss Margaret Thelen, Mr. and Mrs. J.
