HERBERT REASON

Herbert Clarence Reason was born April 4, 1898, at Walnut to Angelo and Eva Engelman Reason. He was united in marriage
to Almira Wilson on Nov. 27, 1929 at Spirit Lake. To this union were born five children, Dean of Spencer; Donald of Arnolds Park; Glenn of Burns, Oregon; Bill of Indianola; and Mrs. Ray Hair of Redmond, Ore.

Mr. Reason worked around Spirit Lake and Arnolds Park until moving to Spencer in 1931. For ,16 years he was dragline operator for the Stolley Sand and Gravel. He retired in 1959.

Following an extended illness, Mr. Reason passed away on July 14, 1967 at St. Lukes Lutheran Rest Home at the age of 69 years, 3 months and 10 days.

Survivors include his children: Dean, Donald, Glenn, Bill and Mrs. Hair; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; three brothers, Harley of Menlo, Cecil and Ralph of Lenox; one sister, Mrs. Frank (Mildred) Thomas of Coining.

Mr. Reason was preceded in death by his wife on May 21, 1967.

The services were held Monday, July 17 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer at 2 p.m. with Rev. Lanny Tuttle officiating. Leland Chamberlain sang "Goodnight and Goodmorning" and " How Great Thou Art" with Mrs. Donald Wilson as organist. Pallbearers were Leonard Beck, Magnus Johnson, Marvin Bomgaars, Virgil Rinken, Virgil Middaugh and Francis Martin. Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery at Spirit Lake.

Married Thanksgiving Evening

Herbert Reasen [Reason], of Adair, and Allie Goodrich, of Spirit Lake, were married Thursday evening at 8 o'clock at the Presbyterian pareonage. The wedding was performed by Rev. Herbert Marsh in the presence of Mrs. Jack Wilson and Franklin.

Mrs. Reason is well known in Spirit Lake, being a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jake Wilson. Mrs. Reasen's [Reason's] home is in Adair, but he is employed with the Northwestern Light & Power Co., and is at present working in Spirit Lake.
