The funeral for Francis B. Black, 89, of Hays Mill, will be at 2 p.m. today at McConnell Memorial Chapel with O.D. Morrow officiating. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Black died Monday, Oct. 13, 2003, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 2, 1914, in Limestone county to George Monroe Black and Mamie Holt Black. He was a retired carpenter and farmer and a member of Hays Mill Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Compton Black; two daughters, Mary Rebecca Slaton of Lester and Cindy Black Pitman of Baileyton; our sons, Donald B. Black, of Elkmont, Charles E. Black of Killen, and David Francis Black and Joe Black, both of Athens; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Donald Black, Chalets Black, David Black, Joe Black, Steve Robinson and Dane Pitman.
