The headstone age at death is incorrect as so many are, it should read 38 years of age.So many times the handwritten instructions for the engraver are not clear. Hand written fives and eights are confused many times in older handwriting.There is also the fact that surviving family members may not of known the correct age. This I have found many times over.
Mary's stated age as of her next birthday is 39 years of age in the 1851 Census of Canada. She died June 9, 1851, she would have been 39 years old February 1852.
