Novella Bruce, 81, of Louisville passed away September 7, 2010 at Baptist Hospital East. She was born on January 8, 1929 to the late Corlis Davidson and Bessie Combs Davidson in Knott County, Kentucky. She was retired from Pillsbury with over 30 years of service and a member of Manuel Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, William M. Bruce; two brothers, Elhannon Jennings Davidson and Leonce Davidson and a sister, Juanita Sanders.

She is survived by her children, Barbara Jean Matherly (James) and Darin L. Bruce (Patty); several step children Grandchildren, Pamela Barr, Brad Matherly and Jimmy Bruce; two great-grandchildren, Cole Jacob and Chanse Rondell; two sisters, Coleene Blaylock and Joyce Singleton; and a brother, Leon Davidson; several nieces and nephews and a host of extended family.

A celebration of her life will be conducted Saturday September 11, 2010 at 10:00 a.m.Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday from Noon-8 at the funeral home.
