Early Pioneer in Livingston County, Iosco, MI
Came from Vermont down Erie canal and Erie Lake.
Built first frame house in county. When he was a boy in Vermont was captured by the indians for a year. He escaped from the indians, when they tried to find him a women protected him by hiding him in a butter churner. He was of mor ethan ordinary business talent, he became influential in public affairs, and filled many of the responsible township offices...as did his son Isaac.

Children were Isaac, Anson, Seth Calvin, and Olive. 2 children died young, Elizabeth and Orange Clark Stowe

Father of Asel was Clark Stowe and Sarah Hobbs Stowe..Clark was captured with his father David by the Indians and Tories..Homesteads were burned and the women and children his in cellars to save their lives..Clark and David taken prisoners to Canada. Father David died in prison Clark was given to a French lady as a servant until he was released years later to go home.
