William P. Parker, deceased, a native of West Virginia, where he was born March 31, 1799. On his removal to Pennsylvania, having arrived at mature years, he was married to Miss Maria Backman; in 1848 he purchased property in Greene County, where some years later he settled upon a farm some four miles northwest of Kane, where he has since followed farming, and has also been extensively engaged as a stock raiser, ranking among the more prosperous farmers of Greene County. He is the owner of 473 acres of land that will compare favorably with any in the west.
