David Lindsey was the son of James Alfred and Jane (Scott) Lindsey, and father of James Lamb Lindsey and David Alfred Lindsey. By 2008, his gravestone was broken and nearly illegible. His descendants hired Arnold Monument Company of Springfield, Illinois, to repair, re-inscribe, and re-erect the stone. Additional information was added on the other three sides of the stone:
