The 1910 census indicated that by then they'd been married 7 years, had only one child, had each been married only once and that he worked as a house carpenter. However, other census records suggest he was married twice before marrying Martha.
Martha was admitted to the asylum from 6 W. Park Avenue in Charlotte, NC in late Summer of 1914 and died here 15 years later of acute enterocolitis and dementia praecox (schizophrenia).
Martha was the stepmother of at least the following children: Samuel M. Kissiah, Thomas C. Kissiah, Sarah Jane Kissiah Kiser, James Willard Kissiah.
