He married Kathryn E Krantz in 1917

In 1897, Edwin was second vice president of the Carriage Builders Association, treasurer of the Philadelphia Cycle Board of Trade, and associated with Jacob Rech and Sons, Carriage Makers, located at Eighth and Girard Avenue in Philadelphia. He later became a director of the National Security Bank.

In 1902, he patented an anchor.
