Private, Company D, 7th Tennessee Union Cavalry, enlisted in Carroll Co, TN on 8/4/1862 and mustered at Trenton, TN on 9/24/1862. He mustered out at Saulsbury, TN on 10/25/1863 at the end of his one year enlistment. Pettigrew married Lucinda Hollowell in 1862 in Benton Co, TN. He complained of a double hernia and heart trouble in the 1890 veterans' census. Pettigrew died on 7/17/1926 at Parsons, TN and is buried in the Adams Cemetery in Benton Co, TN with a military marker. He appears to have been the son of Robert and Ann Pettigrew.
