Feb. 5, 1937-May 9, 2008
A celebration of life for Sandy E. Ashcraft, 71 of Nashport, will be at 6:30 p.m.
Tuesday at Marne United Methodist Church, 1019 Licking Valley Road NE, Newalk,
with the Rev. Gus Christo-Baker officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
Mrs. Ashcraft died Friday evening at Newark Healthcare Centre.
Born Feb. 5, 1937, in Lancaster, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Glenn and
Mrs. Alberta (Viedt) Biddle and was a 1956 graduate of Newark High School. She
Was employed by Newark Healthcare Centre for 17 years as a receptionist. Mrs.
Ashcraft was a member of Marne United Methodist Church. Sandy’s life was fulfilled
And enriched with God’s love and his grace.
Surviving are her husband, Ray E. Ashcraft, whom she married Nov. 2, 1956; two
sons, Chester Ashcraft, of Pasadena, Texas, and Jeffrey Ashcraft, of Palm Springs,
Calif.; one daughter Tami Ashcraft of Nashport; 10 Grandchildren; 13 great-
grandchildren; one brother, Alan (Sharon) Biddle, of Indianapolis, Ind.; an aunt,
Carl Biddle, of Leesburg, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Kenny Ashcraft.
Sandy’s family wants to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of Newark
Healthcare Centre and Hospice of Central Ohio. Each provided such wonderful care
and comfort in Sandy’s end-of-life days. And to Sheri Webb, her guardian angel
while at Newark Healthcare, many thanks.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Frazeysburg
Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 W. Third St.
Memorial contributions may be made to Marne United Methodist Church Food
Pantry, in care of the church, or to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley
Road, Newark.
