Edwin Routledge

Edwin Routledge, 81, died at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the home of his brother, Albert Routledge, 3 22 10th St. He had been in ill health for a year but death was unexpected.

Mr. Routledge had been here this year since Jan. 12. He had been coming here for the past seven years fro Newman, Ill. He was retired. He was a member of the ME Church of Newman.

Survivors besides the brother, Albert, include three daughters; Mrs. Blanche Miller, Cincinnati, who arrived here Tuesday; Mrs. Pearl Hopkins, Charleston, Ill.; Mrs. Florence Fonner, Urbana, Ill.; two nieces, Mrs. W. H. Hitt, city, wife of the former mayor; Mrs T. K. Hartwell, Marion, Ill., and seven grandchildren in Illinois.

The body will be sent tonight by the Mizell-Simon Mortuary to Newman for funeral services and burial. It will be accompanied by the daughter, Mrs. Miller, and the brother.

The body may be viewed between 2 and 5 p.m. today at the Mizell-Simon Chapel.
