Friedrich C. Martens & Gesine Mary (Marie) Nordhausen immigrated with their four children Diedrich Christ., Anna Gesine, Gerhard & Friedrick (Fred) Anton debarking in New York on 24 Apr 1876. The ship Weser brought them over from the port of Bremen. They traveled over with John Nordhausen & Katherina Kruse who were also married in Germany. Most likely John Nordhausen & Anna Gesine Martins were brother and sister. In 1884 they sponsored my maternal great greatparents Franz & Mary Kruse who helped the Nordhausen's farm their 80 acres a mile west of Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery where they attended church. John Nordhausen purchased the farm for $600 from John Dey in 1877. They sold out to nephew Diedrich Martens for $4,900 on 2/14/1991 and relocated to a berry farm south of Canby, OR along with their 6 children. At the same time Franz Kruse purchased 80 acres borrowing money from their new neigbors W.Gocke in south Waco in Big Blue Twp. It appears the Nordhausen name died off in OR. Son Gerhard Martens died when he was 10. Anna Gesine married Johann Tonjes and died
