Clarina (Ouellette) Cormier passed away in the fall of 1936 following the birth of her last child in April of that year. According to her death certificate, she died of 'puerperal septicaemia' (blood poisoning), a latent childbirth complica- tion which was not uncommon in rural areas at that time.

Clarina was only forty-three-years-old when she was laid to rest in the parish cemetery at Saint-Léonard-Parent. She and her husband Fred were five months away from celebrating their Silver Wedding Anniversary; and she was survived by twelve of her thirteen children, ranging in age from seven months to twenty-three. May she rest in peace.
