James Herbert Shook, 73, died Saturday at the North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. He was a member of the Tupelo Church of God, a retired carpenter and a Veteran.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Salts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Ezell and the Rev Albert Decanter officiating. Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery, Booneville, Mississippi.
Survivors include his wife, Cleo Ricketts Shook of Blue Springs, Mississippi, two daughters; Martha Kendrick of Blue Springs, Mississippi and Elaine Riggs of Mooreville, Mississippi; five sisters; Lucile Ricketts of Watervliet, Michigan, Grace Counce and Inez Keller of Booneville, Mississippi, Irene Armstrong of Maynardville, Tennessee and Bernice Smith of Jackson, Tennessee; two brothers, Herman Shook of Booneville, Mississippi and Edward Shook of Chattanooga, Tennessee; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
