He was a Revolutionary soldier. His name is on the Pay Roll of a company of Minute-men, in the service of the country in the year 1775, under command of Col. Thomas Johnson; on Muster Roll of Capt. John G. Bayley`s Company, in service, guarding & scouting, from 4/1777 to 3/6/1779, in regiment under command of Col. Peter Olcott; on Pay Roll of Capt. Nathaniel Chamberlin owned land in Grafton Co., NH. Nothing further is known of him except the fact that the admins of his estate were appointed in 1802. He is believed to have had several children. One daughter is known, Elizabeth, born in 1794; married a Mr. Johnson, an Englishman, & removed to Canada in 1824 where he died, leaving several children. She returned to Newbury VT & educated them. In 1852, she went South to live with her children & died in Bellville, Ala., 6/21/1859. She had one son, William Johnson, who became a teacher, then a merchant &, when last heard from, lived, retired at Pensacola, Fla. One daughter, Sophia, married Dr. S. S. Forbes of Pensacola. Nothing more received.
