OBITUARY - The Houston (TX) Chronicle - Saturday, 21 Dec 2002

LOIS DUNMAN MCKINNEY, 93, of Livingston, died Thursday, December 19, 2002 at her residence. Services will be 10 A.M. Saturday, December 21st at Pace Funeral Home with Rev. Mary Shivers officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 P.M. Saturday at the Masonic Cemetery in Baytown.

Mrs. McKinney was born on June 4, 1909 in Ingleside, Texas to parents, J. L. and Ollie Ward Dunman. She married Forrest William McKinney on September 22, 1935 at Cedar Bayou Methodist Church near Baytown, he preceded her in death on December 30, 1998.

Mrs. McKinney was known for her China Painting. She taught Sunday School for over 20 years at the Cedar Bayou Methodist Church and worked with the 4-A in San Augustine. She was preceded in death by a daughter Loa Lois Torkelson in 1991. Survivors include two sisters, Faye Turner of Livingston; Roberta Woods of Kerrville; a sister-in-law, Vivian Dunman of Austin; a son-in-law, Soffus T. Torkelson of Parsippany, NJ; a brother-in-law, Homer McKinney of Baytown; two grandchildren, Erik T. Torkelson of Enfield, CT; Karen Loa Briggs of Long Island City, NY; three great-grandchildren.
