Oil Man, Rancher Dies in Houston
HOUSTON, Feb 21, (UP) -
John Gaillard, 80, Goose Creek oil man, rancher and property owner, died today in a hospital.
Gaillard was born in Natchez, Miss., on Oct 6, 1861, but had lived in Harris County 72 years.
His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas B. Gaillard, homesteaded on Tabb's Bay in 1868 and the property formed the basis for the Goose Creek oil field, which he helped develop.
Survivors include his widow and a sister. Funeral arrangements pended arrival of relatives.
