Son of Comfort Capron & Martha Metcalf. Maj. Laban F. Capron, Sr. married Hannah Sweet on 19 Sep 1788 in Attleboro, Bristol Co., MA. Known children are: Wheaton Capron, Welcome Metcalf Capron, Nancy Capron, Hannah Capron, Alpha Capron, Baby twin & Laban F. Capron Jr., Sylvia & Amos Sweet Capron [need all info on children]. Laban Sr. was the first Postmaster of Harford. He was instrumental in choosing the name Harford. Hosea Tiffany suggested Hartford as the name. Laban F. Capron Sr. said strike out the "t" which was immediately agreed by all. He came to Nine Partners in 1794 with his wife & children. He was commissioned Justice of the Peace in 1813.
