Richard was the son of William H. Lizotte and Rosalie Marie Fortier.

At the age of six years, 6 months, and 5 days he drowned in a local irrigation canal after falling in while playing near it.

He was buried in Calvary Cemetery next to his grandparents, Hilaire Fortier and Sarah Regimbal.

He was my father's first cousin. At the age of 12, Dad attended Richard's funeral in Yakima and remembers well the sadness it brought to the whole family. He said all the Fortiers and Regimbals were present as well as many families from Moxee that he didn't know. Just recalling it brought tears to his eyes.
